(SHGC) A number that tells you how much solar heat (sunlight that turns into heat) can pass through a window. The range is from 0 to 1. A low SHGC (such as 0.25) means less heat comes through the window. It’s great for hot climates where you want to keep the sun’s heat out. A high SHGC (such as 0.65) means more heat comes through. You’ll love glass with a high number in the north. Remember – High numbers ⬆️ in the north and low numbers ⬇️ in the south. The SHGC helps you pick the right kind of window for your climate.
